Trinalina and Middle Eastern Festival Bring Wine, Dancing

On Saturday Apr. 23, EAC Barnyard and the House of Peace paired up to host Trinalina and the Middle Eastern Festival on the Main Quad.

The Middle Eastern Festival was a dry event. It provided hookah, lounge pillows, henna tattoos and Middle Eastern food. A live band and belly dancers performed for the attendants of the festival.  The Middle Eastern Festival was run by Kim Marzant ’18.

On the other half of the main quad, Barnyard hosted its 21+ event, Trinalina. This event featured free wine tasting, free food provided by Chartwells and complimentary wine glasses embellished with the Trinalina insignia. In order to participate in the wine tasting, students had to provide a horizontal Trinity ID and present a wrist band to the Chartwell employees inside the Grecian decorated tent. Each student could get three free drinks of wine.

Barnyard Executive Board member, Jenn Martin ’18, who spearheaded Trinalina said, “Trinalina was one of my favorite events last year so I was really excited for it again this year, especially because we would be collaborating with the House of Peace again. Most of the planning required working with different suppliers like Chartwells and ordering decorations and give aways.” Martin coordinated Trinalina with the help of the other members of Barnyard. “The whole Barnyard team really came together to help decorate and run everything the day of the event and it was awesome to see it all come together,” said Martin.

The event was attended by a large amount of Trinity students, a majority of the quad who sat in circles surrounding the hookahs.

Later, many students migrated to the side of the quad facing the baseball fields to watch the double header while still enjoying the festivals.
