As Trin Days arrive, many students are wondering just what they should do with their incredible four days off from academics. Some are going on far-flung vacations, others staying right here on campus. Wherever you are these Trin Days, here are some fun activities to help you pass the time:
- Sue Trinity for Slip and Fall Accidents: Have you or someone you know experienced a devastating slip and fall accident to the unsalted Long Walk or the Elton skating rink? Not to fear! Contact your lawyer to join the Trin Coll Slip and Fall Suit today!
- Eat Actual Food: After a long month of begrudgingly eating Mather food, many Trinity students are elated that they can finally return to eating “real food.” For many students, the four day respite from pink chicken thighs and mysteriously topped pizza will be much enjoyed.
- See Your Hometown Situationship: Been missing the warm embrace of that person you hookup on and off with during the summer and winter breaks? Not to fear! Trin Days offers a great time to reconnect or send that “you up?” text you’ve been sitting on since late January.
- Eat at the Bistro: The Bistro is often deemed the best food on campus by many. Its various sandwich selections and delectable chicken tenders are a must-have in any campus diet. Trin Days offers an exciting opportunity to try out a new offering or m- oh, it’s closed.
- Read Trinity Today: Each and every day we’re gifted with a wonderful, explanatory email from Trinity documenting the many activities taking place on campus. Sadly, this email is almost always immediately deleted. Trin Days gives us all an opportunity to catch up on these valuable events and finally check on what’s playing at Cinestudio.
- Reflect On Your Semester So Far: It’s often a good idea to hold some space and consider your semester so far. You may want to think about the many goals you’ve achieved, the new friends you’ve made, the assignments you’ve made ChatGPT do, and the awkward social interactions you completely fumbled.
- Catch Up on YikYak: The semester can often be crushingly busy with work, making us forget what really matters: really funny YikYaks. Trin Days are a great time to scroll your life away, looking at the sarcastic and witty comments your peers leave about our time at Trinity. Yaks are often best enjoyed when paired with a hot tea or 40 proof liquor.
- Research President Dan Lugo (Not the Murderer): Confused about the mysterious man coming from Queens College? Trin Days are an awesome time to sit down and read his Wikipedia page. Fun Dan Lugo Fact: I follow him on LinkedIn! (He did not connect back with me #disappointed).
- Do Your Laundry: Some of you smell awful, like really, really awful. Maybe it’s your body odor, but I suspect it’s your clothes. Trin Days are a good time to finally catch up on laundry and wash that shirt that I know you’ve worn three days in a row.
- Completely Change Your Personality: Actually just despise who you are? Wish you were totally different? After Trin Days, you can return as a completely new person. A good strategy is watching a very strange movie and modelling your entire personality after its eclectic, alternative main character. Please do not use “American Psycho” or “Perks of Being a Wallflower,” we have enough of those already.
- Get Super Drunk With Your Parents: Pretty self-explanatory here.
- Pull Off a Diabolical Academic Comeback: Failing all your classes right now? Trin Days are a great time to finally do a class reading or study for the first time this semester. Those staying on campus may find a quieter than usual library spot of a half empty Peter B’s to crack open a book and finally get to reading.
- Finally Submit and Internship Application: Sadly, not all of our dads work at a Big Four finance firm (although preliminary studies show that’s the case for 58% of all Trin students), so many of us will need to find internships on our own for the summer. Trin Days are a great time to grind LinkedIn and Handshake and write a cover letter that will get discarded immediately by your potential employer.
- Read the Tripod: Well, if you’ve made it this far I guess you already have this one covered… but all of our editions are available online for reading at your convenience!
