Upon meeting last week and reviewing the decision to allow rapper B.o.B to perform at Spring Weekend, Barnyard voted to cancel their announcement. In the wake of the last-minute change in plans, students wondered if the entire event would be cancelled. On the morning of Monday, April 9, however, EAC Barnyard sent out a mass email promising that “The lineup will be announced TODAY via the Facebook event group!”
Facebook announced that the lineup for the concert would include DJ Trouble Kidd (Jervon Adams Jr. ’20) and WVLFPACK- (Alex Wolfson ’20 and Stew Williams ’18)
Later, though, on that same page, it was announced that singer Kiiara would headline Spring Weekend. Kiiara became internationally recognized after the release of her single “Gold” in 2015.
The scintillating digital voice of that song is unique to Kiiara, and the sound of her music is largely dominated by this slow, sensual, club-like sound. Kiiara is a from Wilmington Illinois, and was born in 1995. Since the success of Gold she has continued making music, most recently featured in band Cheat Codes’ single “Put Me Back Together.”
