Golf Wins at Williams

After two days of beautiful weather, the Trinity College Men’s Golf Team clinched 1st place out of eight teams in the Williams Spring Invitational. It is the fourth time that the Bantams have placed 1st in a tournament or invitational this year, and it is the first of the spring season.
Jack Junge ’19 was the highlight of the tournament. While he tied for 5th on Saturday with 77 strokes, he was able to place 1st on Sunday with 68, five strokes below every other golfer. Bantam Joseph Ladd ’19 placed 4th overall by carding 154, and also tied two others for 2nd place with a 76 on Saturday. Meanwhile, senior captain Jeff Durkin ’16 scored a 157, tying with fellow Bantam Taylor Kay-Green ’19 as well.
Trinity’s main competition was the Middlebury Panthers, who tied with Trinity at 312 at the end of day one. However, the Bantams edged out the Panthers by one stroke, totaling 623 on Sunday. Williams followed in 3rd with a score of 621. The team will play their last tournament on Apr. 30 and May 1 at the NESCAC Championship at Middlebury.
