The lights (blinking overheads in Mather), the cameras (guy who snipes everyone on the Long Walk for the school’s Instagram), the glitz and the glamour — Trinity fashion week this year was definitely not to be missed. But just in case you did, I, Anna Wintour, am here to give you the highlights of this year’s fall/winter fashion week at Trinity College.

The runway was cleverly styled as a paved stone walkway called the “Long Walk” and set in a college campus. I really appreciated the details they included to maximize the “college” vibe, such as dead leaves covering the ground and the occasional squirrel or skunk wandering by. I even saw a few random socks and spilled containers of food, which was très dirty-chic.

However, the menswear collection was disappointing. The too-short cargo pants, Vineyard Vines whale shirts, Patagonia vests and backwards baseball caps failed to impress me. It was giving: “My mom dressed me my whole life and I don’t know how to pick out my own clothes, so now I just look like every other member of my frat.”

I was horrified by what seemed to be the main trend of the season: bringing summer clothes into winter. Over the course of Trinity Fashion Week, I unfortunately saw countless men wearing not only shorts with a five-inch inseam, but also flip-flops. The flip-flops didn’t even have to be paired with the shorts — imagine my shock and terror upon seeing a cute sweater and jeans combination, only to look down and discover that the guy’s toes were just out. There. On the Long Walk. In 35-degree weather. I actually have chills just remembering it.

For the womenswear, I observed a plethora of Ugg slippers, Lululemon leggings, puffy vests and Longchamp bags (or if you’re really bougie, a Goyard or Louis Vuitton) replacing boring old backpacks. I also noticed that there were enough Golden Goose sneakers to fill a Foot Locker, and was forced to question the appeal of a sneaker made to look like it came from a trash heap. But, at least their toes are covered.
