Last Saturday the Trinity College track team went to Springfield Maroon and White Classic. There were three first place finishes ending in a team finish of 4th out of six teams. Kyle Larsson ’18 ran the 600-meter run finishing in 1st place with a time of 1:32.25, blowing away his competition. Veteran runner Patrick Hoagland ’16 managed to grab a 2nd place finish in the 1000 meter run with teammate Caleb Wright ’17, finishing at his heels in 3rd place. Both runners collectively gathered 14 points between both of them. Sean Dunn ’16 finished the 3000-meter race with a 10 second gap between him and the 2nd place finisher receiving 10 points for the Bantam’s team. Following this the bantams were able to receive a 1stplace finish in the 4×800 meter relay event to close the meet.
This past Saturday the men’s indoor track and field team traveled back to Springfield for the Massasoit Invitational. It was an extremely riveting meet with Trinity finishing just 8 points behind the 1st-place Springfield team. Caleb Wright ’16 ran in the 800 meter run with a 1st place finish. Sean Dunn ’16 again exceled in long distance receiving 1st place in the 5,000 meter run with a 30 second gap. Jack Mcinnis ’19 made an impressive appearance, receiving 1st place in the 60-meter hurdles. Alex Tomco ’19 ran the 200 meter and 60 meter dashes with a 2nd and 3rd place finish respectively. For the 400 meter dash, Ben Feloa ’19 clinched a 2nd place finish, earning the Bantams 8 points. Kyle Larsson ’18 again did well in the 800-meter dash, receiving a 2nd place finish. Zachary Joachim turned another great performance with a second place finish in the 3000-meter run. Overall the Trinity Track and Field team is progressively getting better and they hope to keep it going as they travel to the Wesleyan Invitational.
