Trinity College’s Spring athletics have returned for the 2026 season. The bantams have been striving for success during preseason and have finally reached gameplay, starting the season off strong with wins across spring athletics.

The women’s lacrosse team finished last season with a 9-9 record, reaching NESCAC championship play and a victory in the NCAA Division III Women’s Lacrosse Championship. The team is led by Grace Denious ‘26, Samantha Hark ‘26 and Kaeley Zito ‘26. The captains commented to the Tripod, “The GLAX team is fired up for the 2026 season! Our team is feeling complete, prepared, and excited to prove ourselves as one of the best women’s teams in the NESCAC. With a strong group of returners and first-years, we believe we have a team that can go the distance and we can’t wait!” This past weekend, the team secured a win against Williams thanks to a hat trick from captain Denious. The women’s team will play Union College on Wednesday March 4 at home on the Robbin L. Sheppard Field.

The men’s lacrosse team also claimed a victory over Williams on Saturday, with three hat tricks from Jake Connors ‘26, Colin Sullivan ‘27 and Miles Harvey ‘27. Captains for the spring 2026 season are Carter Barford ‘26, Davis Ike ‘26, Rory McAloon ‘26, Jay Ottomanelli ‘26 and Colin Sullivan ‘27. The captains told the Tripod, “The Men’s Lacrosse Team is excited for the 2026 season to finally begin. With last year’s team winning the program’s 1st NCAA Tournament game since 2012, this year’s team is hoping to build off that. With a large amount of starters returning, and an infusion of talented first-years, the team is ready to tackle the difficult NESCAC and out-of-conference schedule.” Last season, the Bantams played in the NCAA Division III Men’s Lacrosse Championship, making it to the second round before falling to York College of Pennsylvania. Their next game will take place on Saturday March 7 at Bates College.

Softball will play their first game against Nichols College at home on Tuesday at 3:30 pm. The team will be ramping up in full force after ending last season with an overall record of 11-23. Makenna True ‘27 and Kaysen Shikar ‘26 were selected as captains for this season.

The Baseball team won both games against University of Hartford in a double header at home on Saturday, Feb. 28. They will go on to host Brandeis University at home on Tuesday March 3 at 3:30 pm. Last season the Bantams reached NESCAC tournament play and fell to Colby College in the semifinals. The team will be led by Tyler Bernstein ‘26, Dylan Schnitzer ‘26 and Aiden Stern ‘27.

The women’s golf team will play in their first match Saturday March 28 at the Vassar international. This past fall, the team participated in several matches, and will continue this momentum into the spring. Captain of the Women’s golf team Himena Yamane ‘26 told the Tripod, “I’m excited to build on last season’s progress and see our hard work pay off this year. We’ve grown a lot as a team, and I’m looking forward to competing together and continuing to improve each tournament!”

The men’s golf team will compete against University of Hartford in the Trinity Invitational on Saturday April 4 and Sunday April 5. Captains include Thomas Chalfant ‘27 and Spencer Korona ‘26. The men’s team is ranked third within their region as of last spring, and moved through this past fall with a first place victory in the Sap Bucket Invitational and a second place ranking out of seventeen teams at the Skidmore Fall Invitational.

Finally, the women’s tennis team opened their season with a loss against Wellesley College. They will go on to play Brandeis University Saturday March 7.
