Guard Henry Vetter ’26 became the all-time leader in career three-pointers made for Trinity College men’s basketball on Saturday, Jan. 4, against Tufts University. With his 217th career three-point shot, Vetter surpassed the previous record which had stood since guard Jaquann Starks ’16’s career from 2012–16.
The milestone was achieved in Trinity’s game against Tufts, which the Bantams entered with an 18–1 overall record. It occurred during regular game action and reflected the team’s sustained success in conference competition.
Throughout his collegiate career, Vetter has been a consistent scorer and reliable three-point shooter for the Bantams. During the 2024–25 season, Vetter led the team with 72 three-pointers made, shooting 36.5 percent from long range, and led the Bantams with an average of 15.9 points per game. The season saw Vetter set multiple career highs and receive national postseason recognition.
In the current 2025–26 season, Vetter has remained the team’s primary three-point scorer and has continued to serve a central role in Trinity’s offensive system. Several games this season highlight Vetter’s contributions to Trinity’s offense. In a non-conference matchup against Eastern Connecticut State on Tuesday, Nov. 18, Vetter recorded a season-high 24 points, adding three rebounds, two assists, and two steals in a 99–69 victory.
On Friday, Jan. 16, against Amherst College, Vetter’s three-point shooting helped Trinity regain momentum after an early deficit, contributing to a 75–67 victory. In a victory over Bates College on Friday, Feb. 6, he led Trinity with 20 points while contributing in rebounding, assists, and steals.
The milestone further enhances an already accomplished collegiate career. Vetter earned NABC Third Team All-American honors in 2025 and was named the Division III National Championship Tournament Most Outstanding Player. He also surpassed the 1,000-point career scoring mark during the 2024–25 season, becoming one of a select group of players in program history to do so.
Now that he has become the all-time three-point leader at Trinity College, Vetter reflected on how the milestone has shaped his perspective on his career and growth within the program. He said, “I would just say that I’m super grateful for my coaches, teammates, managers, trainers, and everyone else that played a role in my development at Trinity. Without them none of this would have been possible.”
The record also comes during a season in which the Bantams have performed at a high level, and Vetter emphasized that his shooting success has been closely tied to the team’s collective identity and confidence: “Most of my shooting success has resulted from my teammates actions. Their ability to get me shots, whether that be passing the ball, setting screens, or running the floor in transition has been a major key.”
Looking ahead as the postseason approaches, Vetter stressed the importance of maintaining a consistent competitive mindset as the team moves forward. He said,“our team honestly just wants to come out and compete every day. There aren’t many more days guaranteed so we can’t afford to take anything for granted. We know that if we defend and play together, we have the opportunity to do great things.”
