Spreading Puppy Love: Leslie the Dog’s Social Media Manager

Psi U Pledge ’27

Anti Cooper Propegandist

Move over, Cooper and the skunks —Trinity has a new animal on campus! Resident bouse Psi Upsilon has recently adopted a mascot, an adorable dog named Leslie. Since March 10th, her official Instagram account @leslie_psiu has amassed an impressive 157 followers and documents her day-to-day life living in the frat house. On the account, you can see several poor-quality photos of her cuddling with the brothers, lying on the couch, and going on walks.

“I think having Leslie around is great for PR,” Psi U brother Bradson Clackenford ‘26, who acts as Leslie’s social media manager, told the Tripod. “I mean, I don’t know if you’ve seen the things they say about us on Yik Yak, but we gotta get our reputation as touse back somehow.”

When asked how Leslie could help achieve this goal, Clackenford said: “Everyone loves animals, especially chicks. We noticed that when that Campo guy walks Cooper around, all these girls are suddenly coming up to him being like ‘aw, he’s so cute! Can I pet him?’, so we figured we could adopt a similar strategy. I think it kinda changed the public opinion of Campo, so hopefully it can do the same thing with Psi U. Especially for blonde freshmen.”

According to Clackenford, Leslie’s recent integration into the Trinity community represents a sort of comeback story for Psi U. Ever since they reopened last semester, they’ve dealt with what Clackenford describes as “vicious cyberbullying” from the community.  “They’ve really been bashing us, man,” he said. “We tried to get our pledges — I mean, PR guys — on the case, but it’s kinda hopeless. We’re all down in the dumps right now. What did we do to deserve this, anyway?” Clackenford declined to comment on any allegations against Psi U, or the cause for their initial suspension.

“We tried all the usual methods, like spreading rumors about KSIG and Pike on YikYak, but people are harsh, dude. Like, do they even know about our philanthropy, or that it’s not true that we only let blondes in? We let brunettes in, too,” Clackenford said. “We just hope that through Leslie, people can get a look into the house outside of Saturday nights. They can see that we’re, like, human too or whatever.”

“The goal of @leslie_psiu is ultimately to spread joy and positivity, though,” Clackenford added. “And to get over 2,000 followers, because that’s more than what Cooper’s account has.”
